Innovation & Future of Finance

Innovation Lightning Talks - Hens Steehouwer, Chief Innovation Officer

Innovation is at the heart of Ortec Finance, driving us to deliver market-leading solutions for our clients worldwide. Hens Steehouwer will guide you through a series of short and snappy updates on innovations in Artificial Intelligence, Sustainability, and Technology. The session will close off with a Q&A.

10 years of Ortec Finance Scenarios: Past Breakthroughs, Future Directions

2026 marks the tenth anniversary of the Ortec Finance Scenario set. From financial crises to structural economic shifts, the Ortec Finance Scenario set (OFS) has supported strategic investment decision-making through a decade of change. This session looks back at how the OFS has evolved and highlights how future enhancements will further support investment decisions.

Capital Market Assumptions: A climate reality check

With net zero by 2050 increasingly out of reach, we are advancing towards more locked-in physical risk. Should capital market assumptions be adjusted to reflect this? This session examines how climate change and escalating physical risks are priced into CMAs and considers whether assumptions should reflect a delayed net-zero pathway or a world with limited policy action in which net zero is never achieved.

Breakout sessions grouped by topic

Exact days & times to be announced
Sessions are grouped by topic for clarity until the final timetable is released.

Climate, Risk & Regulation

Aligning Top-Down and Bottom-Up Climate Risk Assessments

While top-down assessments capture systemic climate risks, geographical and issuer-specific influences on their severity underscore the value of bottom-up assessments. In this session, we explore how pension funds, insurance companies, and asset managers can integrate both approaches to achieve a more holistic response to climate risks, enabling better-informed decisions and more effective mitigation strategies.

Developments in Global Regulatory Frameworks

This session will discuss the ongoing developments in regulatory frameworks globally, and the solutions that we offer in GLASS.
